The agriculture realm of the world needs more creative writers. I believe there is a need for more people that have a writing background in the agribusiness industry. If you think about it, they still run like any other business. There is always a need to have someone around that can create professional documents and designs easily. Just because the business involves farming does not mean it does not need strong writers. That is why I decided to grab a minor in Professional and Technical Writing. I love to write, it definitely runs in the family. All throughout high school I really enjoyed writing, it was an escape for me. Once I got to college I really still did not know what I wanted to do. You could say I was just a little scared of what the future held. I changed my major from Animal and Poultry Science to Agribusiness the second day of school. Everything started to fall into place after that. My adviser recommended getting a minor or area of specialization second semester of freshman year. I talked to her for quite awhile, I mentioned that I had a passion for writing and she pointed me to the English Department. She said that having a minor in Professional and Technical Writing combined with an ag-related major would be attracting when it came time to find a job. It was a great decision as I have learned quite a lot about designing documents and writing itself. I am strongly confident that the combination of my major and minor offers a lot in the long run when I graduate next semester. After working for a very large company this summer, I am certain that there is a need for more talented writers in the agriculture industry, and I think that is a wonderful thing. I am excited to bring my experience to my future company.

So, many of you probably have no idea what exactly a futures contract is or how people go about trading them. A futures contract is just a contractual agreement to buy or sell a particular a particular commodity or financial instrument at a pre-determined price in the future. Futures contract detail the quality and quantity of the underlying asset; they are standardized to facilitate trading on a futures exchange ( aka the futures market). Some contracts call on the physical delivery of the asset, while others are settled in cash. You can just think of a futures contract as a stock, and the futures market as the stock market.
