Anarchy (part 2)

We started out small, taking out a few security stations. In a few short weeks, we had liberated half of the East Sector. The night after our raid on Station 219, He got up and made a speech. He congratulated everyone on our victories, then introduced the next level of our plans. This was the first time he made plans without consulting me ahead of time, and I was horrified at what I was hearing. He was getting impatient with our slow progress. He wanted to take down the authority in one fell swoop. The council, the board of judges, the chancellor, everyone. He said as long as they remain alive, they are a threat to our freedom. We had a rare opportunity ahead of us that showed how the fates smiled upon us. His plan was to use the one time they are all together–The Septennial Commune. And bomb them.

I should have stopped him then. I should have stood up and said something. After all, I held their hearts as much as he did. But no, I let him whip them into a frenzy. I let him convince them all that this was the only option. I let him take their hearts from me. When I confronted him that night, I told him that I could not be a part of this, that he needed to stop before he did something he would regret. But it was too late, his mind was set. I thought that if I left, he would reconsider, but I only set his heart against me as well. I had betrayed him, and everything we had worked for. I was a coward for running away. He vowed that he would liberate everyone from our oppressors, with or without me. And warned that if I got in the way, I would share their fate.
